Hey guys,
I just noticed that Nate was planning his OWN Bachelor Party…. and there’s something wrong with that. From my understanding a Bachelor Party is supposed to be thrown by the groomsmen as a treat for the Groom. This is not the case in his situation, Nate has been going out of his way to talk to people about getting together for this "party". I am not sure what’s going on here, but something needs to be done. My bridal shower and bachelorette party was already set, paid for and planned by the time I got to know about it and was invited, and that’s how it’s supposed to be done. Nate says that you guys have never done the whole wedding thing before but so have my bridesmaids, and they went out of their way, did their research and got everything planned. I am super disappointed that his friends would do this to him.

Please, please, please plan something for him, without him planning it, that’s how it’s supposed to be. He is a good guy and at least deserves this, I felt so bad when he was telling me that he was calling people up…. so sad. I’m not sure how you guys are okay with this, but please take some time to plan it for him, it’s not every year someone gets married. If you guys don’t know what to do, please ask me and I can just refer to google. The only person who said something to him about it was Lucas who suggested that he could speak to the BM…Lucas knows some stuff about weddings and what not, and I know he’s not the only groomsman that does. Please let me know what you’re thinking.

To start the discussion, Nate is fine with traveling on March 6, March 27 or April 3 for that weekend in Charleston. You guys can double check with him after you vote for a date and just let him know. Ideas?? Nate loves oyster roasts and barbeques, maybe you guys can have that on saturday or dinner or something and then a night on the town. At least come up with a date and schedule so you guys can invite a few more of his friends.

If no one wants to throw a bachelor party for him, just let me know. I will get some of his other friends together to do something fun for him.

The Patriots and Giants Defense are really unreliable. I would try to make a change there but only if something is available. Your kicker is also kind of unreliable, maybe you could make a change there as well. But then again most of the kickers this year are unreliable. Bench Roddy White. His QB is out for the next three weeks or four weeks. Start Rice or Williams depending on whose defense you think is better San Diego vs Cowboys or Cincinnati vs Vikings. Other than those things your team is pretty set.

Turning regular cupcakes into mini cupcakes….?
I have a recipe for angel food cupcakes and I want to turn them into mini cupcakes. The recipe has them baking in a 12-cup muffin tin @ 350 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes.

Should I cake bake them in a mini-muffin tin at the same temp and time? Or should I cut the time in half? Here is the recipe if it helps anyone:

5 large egg whites
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 salt
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup yellow squash puree
1 tsp. pure lemon extract
1 tsp. grated lemon or orange zest

cut the time down, though maybe not all the way in half. i’d check on the cupcakes around the 8 minute mark and do a toothpick test. continue checking every 2 minutes or so until they’re ready (better safe than sorry). you definitely don’t want burnt angel food

Hi Little mermaid,,you might have to bake them in paper cases just so they dont burn, and to remove them easily, I think they might stick to the tin otherwise.350 seems a bit hot for the size of them and probably no more than 12 /15 minutes at most but check before then at about 10 minutes in. Do it fast with one cake because you don’t want to lose the oven heat. I hope this help,all the best.Rab

My moms car motor blew up?
My mom didn’t change her oil until about 4900 miles past an oil change. I told her she needed to do it. Well she did it and then 6 days later it blew up. It was knocking really really bad, it happened tonight. I was driving it back from out of town with her and my dad and it blew up on me. It ran hot once in the middle of nowhere and shut off. It started back up but we didn’t make it back. It sitting on the side of the road right now on a back road. Not the main road. We are getting it towed and fixed hopefully. What I am getting at though, do you think it was the engine and how much would it cost to fix it? It was knocking, sqealing, and wouldn’t get over 45. It is a 2003 Nissan Altima 2.5SL. Thank you.

"Blowing up" might mean different things. If there was an explosion that sent pieces of metal flying, the motor is destroyed and it may be worth more than the car. If there was a gush of steam (but no metal) ,it overheated and there is a hope that it might be salvaged. Who changed the oil?? I would question them about why it "blew up" after the oil change

There is so much that was destroyed. The best case senario, the head gasket is no more. That repair would be costly but not as much as rebuilding the engine. The knocking may come from the piston skirts banging on the walls of the cylinders. The squealing is probably from the belts. I know that the crankshaft on your car has a pulley on it with a belt routed around it going to various other pulleys which have belts around them also. Because there was no oil in the car everything was working harder, i.e. the crankshaf. The pistons, because there is no oil in the engine are bouncing around in there. The oil was acts as a cushion, a lubricant, and a cleaner. Because its not there everything is working harder, worn down much faster, not to mention the amount of friction created from metal to metal contact (rubbing or moving against each other) and the heat therin created by this friction. There probably is little to no coolant left in your radiator, let alone the rest of the coolant system. I also would get the transmission looked at because it is, after all, connected to the engine. Since the engine ran so hard and so hot there is a chance that it may have been damaged as well. If you want to keep the car the easiest route would be to perform a R&R of the transmission and engine –>swap it out. I say this because a complete rebuild would cost way more. Labor here in california is about $80-100.

Note: R&R you put a new part in. Not as long and tedious as a rebuild where the part is completely torn apart and rebuilt from the ground up with new parts

price out a used replacement engine, and price out doing a rebuild on your engine include new crank and cam bearings,replaining the head which probably got warped. the reason you couldn’t get over 45 is likely the crank bearings were seizing to the crank. maybe the crank also needs turned (re-milled) just so you know 4900 miles over due would not wreck the engine like that, the oil was either to low from a leak or some other problem erupted.
