Turning regular cupcakes into mini cupcakes….?
I have a recipe for angel food cupcakes and I want to turn them into mini cupcakes. The recipe has them baking in a 12-cup muffin tin @ 350 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes.
Should I cake bake them in a mini-muffin tin at the same temp and time? Or should I cut the time in half? Here is the recipe if it helps anyone:
5 large egg whites
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 salt
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup yellow squash puree
1 tsp. pure lemon extract
1 tsp. grated lemon or orange zest
Thanks!
cut the time down, though maybe not all the way in half. i’d check on the cupcakes around the 8 minute mark and do a toothpick test. continue checking every 2 minutes or so until they’re ready (better safe than sorry). you definitely don’t want burnt angel food
sounds delicious! good luck!!

Hi Little mermaid,,you might have to bake them in paper cases just so they dont burn, and to remove them easily, I think they might stick to the tin otherwise.350 seems a bit hot for the size of them and probably no more than 12 /15 minutes at most but check before then at about 10 minutes in. Do it fast with one cake because you don’t want to lose the oven heat. I hope this help, all the best.Rab
